As part of our #Russia4Love Campaign, raising awareness of Russia’s new laws making it illegal to be publicly gay, more than 1000 people spoke out in London yesterday at No.10 Downing Street. The event was part of a global campaign, with 33 cities speaking out in just one day, with over 1.5 million people adopting the hashtag on twitter in 24 hours.
In the UK, our actions promoted the Foreign Office to commit to raising the issue at the upcoming G20 summit. Joined by celebrities and Peter Tatchell, All Out members armed themselves with downloadable designed posters and took to the streets.
Featured on top-tier print, broadcast and online media, it was such a great feeling seeing the posters used by members of the public, and the campaign coming together in the ‘real world’ with such an impact.
