Mike wins Best Sci-Fi Director at London Limelight Film Awards

Head of Film and Video at Remarkable Group, Mike Buonaiuto, won a London Limelight Film Award for Best Sci-Fi Director at last week’s 2012 ceremony.

The honours were handed out at champagne reception at The Troxy, east London, attended by over 500 film makers, celebrities and film and media personalities.

Mike said: “I was completely shocked to win as the standard was so high, particularly in the sci-fi category. It’s the biggest independent film awards in Britain so it’s incredibly exciting.
“When my name was announced I was up and out of my seat before I knew it. It was a great night and a real honour to have been nominated, let alone actually pick up an award.”
He was also shortlisted for his horror flick ‘Vedova’. Both his films were made through collaborating on Twitter with actors, producers and film enthusiasts, and Mike has been unafraid to be experimental and abstract.
Also representing Remarkable at the awards was Nic Yeeles, the company’s creative director, who was shortlisted for both the Documentary and quirky Free Fall director categories.
